Tornadoes

Tornadoes are fast spinning columns of air that stretch from a thunderstorm in the sky down to the earths surface, and they form in very big thunderstorms. Most tornadoes are short lived and don't cause to much damage. In the center of the United States is an area known as Tornado Alley which covers parts of Kansas, Oklahoma and Missouri. In the summer the cold air from Canada mixes with the warm air from the gulf of Mexico and hot, dry air from the Great Plains. This creates the right weather conditions for tornadoes.

  2. Kia ora Jennifer,

How crazy are tornados? I have never seen one and I don't ever want to. It is pretty crazy what they can do even though they are just made of wind. What was the most interesting fact you learned about them?

Next time, I would love to see you address your postcard to someone and say who it is from.

    From Miss Holland.
