Sister Aroha

                              Sister Aroha

Sister Aroha was the first Kiwi nun that was in Mother Teresas order.

Philomene Hoban was a Farm girl from Calverton, before she was a nun she was a teacher who was very adored from her students. Phillomene went travelling and in Asia she saw poverty up close, she said that she had always had the feeling that she wanted to be with the poor and help them.
I have made a venn-diagram about Sister Aroha and Mary, and their similarities.

  1. Wow Jennifer, another incredible blog post.

I really love your description, it covers who Sister Aroha is perfectly.

You have some great examples in your Venn-Diagram and your similarities are so correct. They both gave up their lives to help God, they followed his call and made a difference in other people's lives.

How do you think we could be more like Sister Aroha in our class?
